AYESHA WOMENS GROUP WORKSHOP
Pankhurst Centre, Manchester 17th September 2014

I had the pleasure to teach a group of ladies from the Ayesha Women’s Group at the Pankhurst Centre.  Ayesha Women’s Group was set up in January 2014 for South Asian women who have experienced violence at any time in their lives. The Group meets every Monday from 10.30am to 12.30pm in Longsight Manchester.  It is facilitated by Shabana an experienced Counsellor with the Manchester Rape Crisis and Shaz an experienced Group Facilitator with the Roby Centre Manchester. Both have many years experience of working with South Asian Women in a range of settings.

Referrals to the Group can be made by contacting Shabana on 07896 939599

The Pankhurst Centre itself is of historical significance as it was the home (now museum) of Emmeline Pankhurst - British political activist and leader of the British suffragette movement who helped women win the right to vote.
